Provisional Licence

To apply for your provisional licence complete a D1 Form from your nearest Post Office and send it to the DVLA with your Passport or Birth Certificate - not forgetting to include a passport size photo of yourself.

You can also apply for a provisional licence on the DirectGov website.

It is possible to apply three months before your 17th birthday so you can start your driving lessons as soon as you turn 17.
